New Ambassador to Vietnam
EoS in Hanoi - The Swedish Government has appointed Lars-Olof Lindgren as the new Ambassador to Vietnam. Lars-Olof Lindgren is presently Sweden’s Ambassador to India. Earlier he has worked as State Secretary for Foreign and European Affairs in the Prime Minister’s office, as State Secretary for Foreign Trade and as Director-General for Foreign Trade. He has served in the Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels, in the Embassy in Beijing and in the Delegation to the OECD in Paris.

The traditional celebration of Lucia at the Embassy of Sweden this year
EoS in Hanoi - There was more than 350 guests attended our event. It is quite a reasonable number as this event is known to many of our Vietnamese friends for more than 40 years. Lucia becomes an event for both parents and children.

An independent evaluation on 42 years of development cooperation between Sweden and Vietnam
EoS in Hanoi - In 2007, the Swedish Government decided to phase-out the traditional cooperation in Vietnam and to change the modality to partner driven cooperation. It is now the right time to look back to the history of Sweden-Vietnam development cooperation over 42 years. An evaluation team was contracted by Sida-HQ to assess Sweden’s contribution to multidimensional poverty reduction in Vietnam over these years.

VN-Sweden Cooperation Program Office still runs
VGP - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Thiện Nhân has agreed with an amendment made to an agreement on research cooperation between Việt Nam and Sweden from July 2008 to December 2011.

EoS in Hanoi - New telephone and visiting hour at the visa section has been introduced. A new bank account has been opened for handeling the visas and consular fees.
